The Trojan Tribune is making its return to Wayzata High School this year.
Student advisors, Aneira Tolia and Addie Winans, noticed a lack of school community during the 2024-25 school year. They wanted something that could help spread word about all of the activities and accomplishments occurring in the lives of those passing them in the hallways each day.
Their answer–revive the school paper.
Tolia and Winans compiled a group of 20 talented journalists last spring and produced 4 issues of a Wayzata newspaper. After readers devoured those issues, more than 50 Wayzata students signed up this summer to be a part of the revival of the Trojan Tribune.
The earliest issues able to be found of the Trojan Tribune, then called The Wayzatan, date back to 1941. For nearly 80 years, the voices of Wayzata students have been heard. This issue marks the dawning of a new era for the Trojan Tribune.
